Being named Tees Business of the Year 2026 is one of those moments for everyone at Eastgate Engineering. While we’re incredibly proud to receive such prestigious recognition, the award represents so much more than a trophy or a title. It tells the story of our people, our journey and the values that continue to shape our business every day.

A journey built on belief
Eastgate Engineering was founded in Waterford, Ireland, in 2007 by our CEO and Founder, David Brennan. What began with a vision to build a different kind of engineering business has grown into a leading engineering and infrastructure specialist, employing more than 500 people across the UK and Ireland.
A defining moment came in 2015 when we established our headquarters in Teesside. The region’s industrial heritage, skilled workforce and strong sense of community made it the ideal place to build the next chapter of our story.
Today, while we’re proud of our Irish roots and continue to invest in our Waterford operations, Teesside has become the centre of our leadership, growth and ambition.
It’s always been about our people

This achievement belongs to every colleague across Eastgate Engineering who brings professionalism, commitment and pride to work every single day. From our project teams on site to the people supporting our operations behind the scenes, every individual has played a part in helping us reach this milestone.
As David Brennan said on the night:
“This is something else. I’m so honoured and privileged to represent the employees behind Eastgate Engineering – they’re the ones who have their shoulders behind the wheel, day in, day out.”
Those words perfectly capture what Eastgate has always stood for. Success isn’t achieved by one person. It’s achieved by one team working together.

As our Managing Director, Claire, recently reflected, one of the biggest factors behind our success has been our ability to work together as one team.
“As we’ve grown, we’ve remained committed to delivering certainty for our clients across a diverse range of sectors. Whether it’s complex engineering solutions, infrastructure projects or specialist services, our focus has always been on quality, collaboration and delivering projects safely, on time and with cost certainty.”
That shared commitment has allowed us to grow independently while maintaining the values that have defined Eastgate from the very beginning.

Teesside has welcomed us, supported our growth and provided incredible opportunities since we established our headquarters here more than a decade ago. The region is home to exceptional talent, world-class industries and a community spirit that we’re proud to be part of.
As we’ve grown, we’ve made it a priority to invest back into the region by creating jobs, developing apprenticeships, supporting local talent and contributing wherever we can to the communities around us.
Looking ahead
We’re continuing to invest in our people through training, apprenticeships and career development. We’re expanding our capabilities across the UK and Ireland, delivering increasingly complex engineering projects and building long-term partnerships with clients who trust us to deliver.
