Margam Green 40MWe Biomass Plant

Project Overview

The Margam Green 40MWe Biomass Plant in Port Talbot, Wales, generates renewable electricity for 75,000 homes with over 80% efficiency. Built by Glennmont Partners and operational since 2019, it burns wood waste to reduce fossil fuel reliance. Spanning 20 hectares and employing 30 people, it was one of the first UK biomass plants with a modular design and the first to receive a green investment bond.
