At Eastgate Engineering, we take pride in playing a vital role in shaping the future of renewable energy through our growing involvement in offshore wind projects across the UK. Our team has become a trusted partner on some of the world’s most significant offshore wind farms, including Dogger Bank, Inch Cape, Hornsea 1, Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3.
David Brennan, our CEO says: “Eastgate have worked on some of the most renowned renewable energy projects. We have built a reputation for delivering market-leading engineering and construction services to a sector driven by quality, health, safety, and environmental considerations.”
We are proud to contribute our specialist capabilities throughout the full lifecycle of these impressive renewable energy projects. Our work aligns with the UK’s Net Zero ambitions, highlight offshore wind as a key element in UK sustainable energy.
Our specialist capabilities include:
- Transition Piece Fit-Out
- WTG Tower M&E Pre-assembly
- Electrical Installation OTM / OSS
- On-shore and Off-Shore Commissioning
- LV & HV Cabling & Terminations
- Offshore Substation Installation
- Nacelle Preservation & Monitoring
We have applied these capabilities to a range of our scopes, on various offshore wind projects.
Eastgate are currently working on the mechanical and electrical pre-assembly of WTG towers at Dogger Bank, the world’s largest offshore windfarm, for our client, GE Vernova. Located 130km off the Northeast of England, with a 3.6GW capacity, Dogger Bank will power up to 6 million homes annually and Eastgate are contracted to complete 277 towers ready for offshore installation. The Dogger Bank Offshore Development Zone spans 8,660 km², situated 125–290 km off the Yorkshire coast, with water depths ranging from 18m to 63m.
We have also completed an electrical (HV & LV) package of works over at Inch Cape Offshore wind farm for our client, Smulders. Inch Cape is another significant offshore wind project, it is a 1.1GW project located 15 km off the Angus coast in Scotland. Owned by ESB and Red Rock Power Limited, it features 72 turbines and an offshore substation to generate renewable energy. Eastgate’s scope focused on the substation and ensuring it was ready for offshore installation.
Eastgate has also completed works on the transition piece fitout at the Hornsea 1 offshore wind farm for EEW which is driving the UK’s renewable energy transition. Located in the North Sea, it spans 407 square kilometres (157.2 square miles) and comprises 174 state-of-the-art turbines. As one of the world’s largest wind farms, it generates enough clean electricity to power over 1 million homes, making a significant contribution to sustainable energy production.
Eastgate is currently delivering a package of works to support the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 Offshore Wind Farms for our client Smulders. Located approximately 22–37 km off the Polish coast near Łeba, these two projects have a combined capacity of 1.44 GW and will generate enough clean energy to power up to two million homes.
At Eastgate Engineering, Offshore Wind is not only a key area of our business, but it also reflects our values as a company and our vision for a sustainable future. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and carbon footprint, prioritising local employment, and investing in the skills development of our team. Throughout all our Offshore Wind involvement, we are proud to deliver positive and lasting impact on the environment and people involved.
With every project, our team ensures that we continue to raise the standard for reliable and efficient delivery in offshore wind.
