Since Eastgate was founded in 2007, we have continued to grow significantly across the UK and Ireland. Over the years, our journey has been shaped by ambitious projects, a dedicated team, and a continued commitment to our core values.
Here’s a look back at some of the key milestones that have defined our story so far.
- 2007: The year Eastgate Engineering was officially founded by David Brennan (yes, we’re only 2 years away from our 20th birthday!).
- 2015: As the business continued to grow, we opened our first office in Waterford, Ireland, in 2015. This marked a significant step forward in Eastgate’s development.
- 2016: We secured our first two major Biomass projects in Wales and Teesside, establishing Eastgate Engineering as a capable and trusted partner within the energy sector.
- 2017: Saw us win the CHP Plant project for JG Pears in Newark. With major projects underway, we also opened our first UK office in Billingham, strengthening our ability to support a growing UK client base.
- 2018: Proved to be a transformative year as we began work on major projects, including the Buncefield Rebuild, Leviathan Offshore Gas Platform, and Hornsea 2 Offshore Wind Farm. These projects firmly strengthened our position across both offshore and onshore energy markets.
- 2019: We achieved ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, reinforcing our commitment to quality, environmental responsibility, and health and safety.
This year also saw the successful delivery of major works at Spalding CCGT, Mitsubishi Chemicals, and Woodsmith Mine. - 2020: This year marked a meaningful moment when David Brennan purchased the Vicky Phelan Portrait at auction, enabling the tour of her story and raising awareness for women’s healthcare.
Operationally, we continued to grow with project wins at Saltend Chemical Park, INEOS Hygienics, and the Dreadnaught Nuclear Submarine Project. - 2021: We expanded further with the delivery of more projects, including the Hartmoor Peaking Plant and Mitsubishi Chemicals Chikara.
- 2022: Marked our growing involvement in major infrastructure and renewable energy projects, including Dogger Bank, NESS EfW, ReNew ELP, and Strabag HS2. We also commenced extended-term contract work with Sembcorp, strengthening long-term partnerships.
- 2023: We began work on the VPI Immingham Peaking Project Plant and the Inch Cape Offshore Substation, further reinforcing our role within the UK’s energy infrastructure landscape.
- 2024: A landmark year. We completed major works at CF Fertiliser, Sembcorp’s BESS Project in Wilton, and the Fawley FAST Project.
We also achieved SafeContractor Certification and were proud to receive multiple industry awards:- Engineering Firm of the Year
- Entrepreneur of the Year
- Business of the Year
- Fastest Growing Business
And finally, we come to this year, 2025. We began strongly as we commenced work on the Lostock EfW Project in the North West of England as well as welcoming a new Board of Directors, strengthening our leadership for the future.
To top off a fantastic year, both our UK and Ireland teams moved into brand-new office spaces, supporting continued growth and collaboration – more on this next year!
