David founded Eastgate Engineering in 2007 with a clear vision: to create a company that is rooted in knowledge, trust and innovation.

David’s journey to CEO has been hands-on from the beginning. “I started my career as an apprentice electrician working mainly on construction of new Pharmaceutical plants, Hi-tech facilities, chemical plants and power stations.”

From the beginning of David’s career, he has steadily worked his way through the industry, leading to the establishment of Eastgate, “after getting an opportunity to enter the office, I developed my career as an E&I QS and after a few years I took on the role of Project Manager at 24 years of age in the UK. After many projects spanning across the world, I eventually bit the bullet and opened the office for Eastgate Engineering with our first major projects in Northeast of England and Wales. We now have over 500 people working on our projects and I still have my tool-box (just in case).”

This journey has given David not only vital hands-on experience but a deep understanding of every layer of the engineering process. Today, David continues to lead Eastgate with the same passion and determination that sparked its beginnings, leading a talented and ever-growing team as they take on diverse and complex projects across multiple sectors.

When David is not in the office, he is sure to be playing some of his favourite rock songs. “I’m a rocker at heart. Well, I’m what is called by some as a “metal-head”. So, if I’m not on the phone while travelling, I’ll be plugged in to some Metallica, Alice In Chains or Pearl Jam.”

Anthony Fiske

Anthony joined the Eastgate team in 2023 and, in April 2025, was promoted to Commercial Director, bringing with him an extensive track record of exceeding client expectations throughout his career.

With over 18 years of hands-on industry experience across commercial operations and project controls, Anthony started out as a Technical Clerk. “Like many others; I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do, though I did know that I enjoyed computers and maths”. Throughout this position, Anthony spent much of his time supporting the QS team and “it was during this period that my passion for Quantity Surveying truly developed, as it brought together my interests in both computers and mathematics”. With determination to follow this path, Anthony studied for an Advanced Diploma in Quantity Surveying and steadily progressed throughout a multitude of roles within the industry. His philosophy, “it’s never too late to learn and grow” reflects his drive and determination.

Anthony applies this extensive knowledge and forward-thinking approach to his role as Commercial Director at Eastgate, playing a vital role in the company’s growth and ambition. “I am excited for what the future holds and proud to be part of Eastgate Engineering’s journey”.

Outside of work, Anthony is a dedicated football fan. “When I’m not watching my beloved Middlesborough FC, or any other team, I’m buried in fantasy football: plotting transfers, scouting players, and even delivering pep talks to my imaginary squad as if they can actually hear me.”

Claire began her role as Chief Financial Officer at Eastgate in June 2025, bringing over two decades of experience in accounting and finance, Claire plays a key role in strengthening Eastgate’s financial performance and building operational resilience.

Claire’s attention to detail and problem-solving skills come from her highly accomplished career. She graduated at 22 and quickly progressed to the position of finance director at the age of 23. Since then, she has held “roles in a range of family and private equity owned businesses, with turnovers ranging from £25m to £2.2bn across a variety of sectors including education, automotive, procurement, technology, travel and more recently I have ventured into the engineering space in my role as CFO at Eastgate”.

Claire thrives by working in high growth, evolving businesses and is passionate about supporting leadership teams using her ability to sustain growth organically and through acquisition means.
