These practices have been particularly evident throughout DABS training and on-site coaching, ensuring that safe systems of work are clearly understood and applied before tasks commence.
A proactive approach to planning has helped reinforce expectations, identify potential risks early, and promote open communication between supervisors and the workforce. This focus on doing the basics well has played a key role in maintaining high safety standards across all activities.
Over the past six months, Eastgate Engineering has also continued to set the benchmark for safety performance, achieving first place in the Safer Contractor League five out of six times. This outstanding result reflects the commitment, professionalism and positive attitude of the teams on the ground, who consistently listen to feedback and adopt the standards being set.
With a workforce of over 150 personnel on site, sustaining such a high level of performance is a significant achievement.
