Eastgate Engineering is pleased to announce that Kyle Smith has joined the business as Managing Director.
Kyle takes up the role at an important time for Eastgate, as the business continues to grow its presence across the UK and Ireland’s critical infrastructure sectors, including Offshore Wind, Power & Renewables, Oil, Gas & Chemicals, Industrial Manufacturing, Data Centres, and Nuclear & Defence.
Kyle joins Eastgate with over 20 years’ experience in engineering and construction leadership, built across some of the industry’s best-known contractors and delivery teams.
Most recently, Kyle spent five years at SES Engineering Services, progressing from Operations Manager to Operations Director for the Yorkshire region. In that role, he held full strategic and operational responsibility for a portfolio delivering more than £80m in annual turnover, leading a multidisciplinary team of 70 across complex projects and multiple sectors.
Before SES, Kyle was a Director at Asta Engineering Services in Leeds and London, and spent almost three years as MEP Operations Manager at Wates Group, where he oversaw regional delivery in Yorkshire – including the award-winning Central Square development in Leeds city centre – before relocating to London to lead delivery on projects including 4 Kingdom Street for British Land.
Kyle began his career at Balfour Beatty, spending over nine years progressing from Assistant Engineer through Electrical Project Engineer to Project Manager, and holds a degree from Liverpool John Moores University.
Commenting on his appointment, Kyle said:
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Eastgate Engineering as Managing Director. The business has built a strong reputation through its talented people and excellent client relationships. I’m looking forward to working closely with the Board and the wider team to build on these foundations and deliver the next phase of Eastgate’s ambitious and sustainable growth.”
David Brennan, CEO, at Eastgate Engineering, welcomed the appointment:
