High Voltage Electrical Technicians

Duties:

• Performs work of a skilled variety demanding a high degree of manual and technical competency.
• Locates and determines electrical malfunctions using test equipment
• Repairs malfunctions by such methods as replacing burned out elements, fuses, and replacing defective wiring, cleaning and repairing motors
• Installs fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment
• Inspects circuits for specified shielding and grounding
• Performs other duties as may be required
• Installs, alters, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring systems and equipment, both high and low voltage
• Safely executing switching procedures, operating high-voltage isolation equipment, and managing network permits.
• Testing and terminating medium/high-voltage array cables (typically 33 kV to 235 kV) and servicing transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
• Deploying advanced diagnostic techniques (e.g., relay tests, insulation tests, and cable fault location) to resolve electrical breakdowns.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have all current and valid off-shore certification including GWO
• Previous experience on Off-Shore Wind essential
• Relevant HV switching qualifications up to 235kv

• Relevant electrical qualification, such as City & Guilds
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical apprenticeship
• Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, retrofit, commissioning, or service activities in wind, industrial, or related field environments
• Knowledge of wind turbine system safety regulations
• Ability to provide technical leadership and support safe field execution
